Agnew Lake: Quick Facts
  • Agnew Lake lies just north of the Trans Canada Hwy. 17 and north of the town of McKerrow Ontario. It is approx. 40 km west of Sudbury
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 46° 21' 19"  Long. 81° 45' 39"
  • Agnew Lake is actually a widening of the Spanish River which flows into the lake on the northwest end and exits on the east end via the Big Eddy Dam
  • while the lake reaches maximum depths of 135', the average depth is 40'
  • the perimeter of the lake is 155 km (97 miles)
  • much of the shoreline consists of rock rubble with some stretches of sand as well. Sandbars and shoals can be found throughout the lake
  • a public boat launch is located 8 km north of McKerrow on Espanola Bay
  • the major fish species include northern pike, walleye, smallmouth bass and perch
  • Agnew Lake is located within Fisheries Management Zone 10
