Black Donald Lake: Quick Facts
  • Black Donald Lake is located along County Road 65 (Centennial Lake Road) east of Griffith Ontario and it straddles the boundary between Frontenac and Renfrew County
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 45° 12' 52"  Long. 76° 56' 17"
  • Black Donald is a reservoir lake that was created with the construction of the Mountain Chute Dam at the end of the 1960's. It is part of the Madawaska River system. It connects to Centennial Lake on the west
  • while the lake reaches maximum depths of 145', the average depth is 45'
  • there are a couple of private resorts with launching facilities on the east and north sides of the lake. Another option would be to boat into Black Donald from the 2 public access points on Centennial Lake
  • the major fish species include small and largemouth bass, northern pike, walleye. a small population of muskie, whitefish, cisco and perch
  • Black Donald is located within Fisheries Management Zone 15
