  • the lake drains into Big Rideau Lake via  Black Creek which exits the lake on the south end
  • while the lake reaches depths of 70', the average depth is 24'
  • the perimeter of the lake is 20 km (12.5 miles)
  • the surface area is 258 hectares (637 acres)
  • the shallower weedy bays are prime areas for pike and largemouth bass. The series of humps along the northeast side of the lake are worth fishing for walleye and smallmouth bass
  • Black Lake is primarily a cottage lake
  • the major fish species include large and smallmouth bass, northern pike, black crappie, perch and a small population of walleye
  • Black Lake is located within Fisheries Management Zone 18
