Buck Lake: Quick Facts
  • Buck Lake is located along County Road 10 (Perth Road) south of Westport Ontario in Frontenac County
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 44° 32' 17"  Long. 76° 24' 18"
  • the lake consists of 2 large bays connected by a culvert. The North Bay is the shallower of the two. While it does reach depths of 100', there are shallow areas with large weed beds providing good cover for bass, pike and panfish. South Bay reaches depths of 120' and provides the best possibility of catching lake trout. Other notable fish holding structure includes a number of mid lake islands with rocky shorelines and quick drop offs, mainland and island points, rock piles and shoals
  • the perimeter of the lake is 17 km (10.5 miles)
  • water flows out of the lake via Mississagua Creek on the northeast end of the lake
  • Frontenac Provincial Park borders the west shore of North Bay
  • a public boat launch is located at the culvert along County Road 10 that connects the 2 bays
  • the major fish species include large and smallmouth bass, lake trout, northern pike, black crappie, perch and bluegill
  • Buck Lake is located within Fisheries Management Zone 18
