Collins Lake: Quick Facts
  • Collins Lake is located off of County Road 10 (Perth Road) north of Kingston in Frontenac County
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 44° 22'  Long. 76° 28'
  • this long narrow lake consists of  2 basins connected by Collins Creek
  • while the lake reaches depths of 30', the average depth is 15'
  • being a relatively shallow fertile lake, it provides a variety of vegetation  (pads, cattails, weeds and reeds) and submerged logs utilized by many of the major fish species. The deeper north end of the lake as well as shoreline drop offs and deep weedlines are home to smallmouth bass  and muskie
  • minimum sizes apply to a kept muskie
  • there is a public access point on the south end of the lake beside a culvert which is suitable for car toppers only. There is a private marina on the north end of the lake which charges a small fee for launching
  • the major fish species include muskie, northern pike, large and smallmouth bass, yellow perch and black crappie
  • Collins Lake is located in Fisheries Management Zone 18
