Echo Lake: Fast Facts
  • Echo Lake is located northeast of Baysville Ontario along County Road 51 (Echo Lake Road) which runs along the south side of the lake
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 45° 10' 37"  Long. 79° 04' 05"
  • the lake contains a single basin which reaches maximum depths of 39'. The average depth is 15'
  • this spring fed lake favours a warm water fishery
  • the lake is part of the South Muskoka River watershed to which it drains
  • there are several shallow bays that contain reeds and lily pads. Overhanging trees, submerged logs and cottage docks provide good cover for bass in the shallows
  • smallmouth bass gravitate to the rock rubble shorelines, points and dropoffs
  • major fish species include small and largemouth bass, pumpkinseed, rock bass and catfish
  • Echo Lake is situated within Fisheries Management Zone 15
