  • Fortescue Lake is located on the Haliburton / Peterborough County line. It is south of Irondale along Fortescue Lake Road
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 44° 50' 15"  Long. 78° 26' 25"
  • Salerno Creek flows into the lake on the east end and Fortescue Creek exits on the west end
  • while this cottage lake reaches maximum depths of 90', the average depth is 38'
  • the shoreline is quite irregular and there is lots of submerged timber, rocky rubble and sandy/gravelly points along its perimeter
  • a public boat launch is located off of Fortescue Lake Road on the northwest end of the lake
  • major fish species include lake trout, muskie and smallmouth bass
  • Fortescue Lake is situated within Fisheries Management Zone 15
