Kakakiwibik Lake: Quick Facts
  • Kakakiwibik Lake is located along Hwy. 631 - 19 km east of the town of White River in the District of Algoma
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 48° 36'  Long. 85° 05'
  • this irregular shaped lake has several basins connected by a series of narrows
  • the Depew (Tedder) River enters the lake on the north end and exits on the south. There are at least half a dozen other streams flowing into the lake. These inflows are good walleye and pike fishing areas
  • while the lake reaches maximum depths of 104', the average depth is 22'
  • the lake has a perimeter of 35 km (22 miles)
  • there is a public boat launch located near the bridge on Hwy 631 where it crosses a narrows on the north end of the lake
  • the major fish species include lake trout, walleye, northern pike, whitefish and yellow perch
  • Fisheries Management Zone 7 fishing regulations apply to the lake
