Little Lake: Quick Facts

  • Little Lake is located just west of Barrie Ontario in the Simcoe District
  • Little Lake has eutrophic features: shallow, warm water and high in nutrient content. Maximum depths reach just over 15'
  • the perimeter of the lake is  7 km. (4.5 miles)
  • extensive weedbeds can be found throughout the lake with reeds and cat tails bordering the shoreline. This type of cover holds all  the major fish species - although walleye and pike will move deeper in the summer. There are a series of fish holding humps  towards the middle of the lake
  • major fish species include largemouth bass, walleye, pike, and black crappie
  • Little Lake is situated within Fisheries Management Zone 16
