Loughborough Lake: Quick Facts
  • Loughborough Lake is located along County Road 10 (Perth Road) north of Kingston Ontario in Frontenac County
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 44° 26' 50"  Long. 76° 24' 41"
  • the lake consists of two distinct basins connected by a narrows
  • the eastern basin has eutrophic features (shallow, weedy, higher in nutrient content). While the basin reaches depths of 15', the average depth is 7'. The basin has many islands and rock piles. Largemouth bass, pike and panfish predominate
  • the western basin is cooler and much deeper (up to 120'). This basin favours lake trout which have been regularly stocked in the lake. Bass and pike can be found in shallower weedy areas
  • Loughborough Lake has developed a trophy bass fishery
  • the overall length of the lake is approx. 38 km and has over 160 km of shoreline
  • there is a public boat launch at the bridge which spans the narrows connecting the two basins. Another launch is located off of Water St. in Battersea. It backs into Milburn Creek which connects to Battersea Bay on the east basin
  • Loughborough Lake is situated within Fisheries Management Zone 18
