Mississagagon Lake: Quick Facts
  • Mississagagon Lake is located along County Road 506 east of the village of Cloyne Ontario in Frontenac County
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 44° 52' 13"  Long. 77° 04' 45"
  • Mississagagon is a head water lake for the Upper Mississippi River. The connection is via the Swamp Creek on the southwest side
  • this spring fed clear water Canadian Shield lake is 7 km (4.3 miles) long
  • while the lake reaches depths of  78', the average depth is 29'
  • the perimeter is 35.2 km (22 miles)
  • the lake is fairly low in nutrient content and does not have as much weed growth as do some of the more fertile lakes further south. There is some weed growth in the shallow bays especially on the east end where pike and largemouth bass predominate
  • the lake is set up nicely for trolling runs in 15'-20' for walleye (shallower in the evening)
  • major fish species include large and smallmouth bass, pike, walleye, whitefish, cisco and perch
  • Mississagagon Lake is situated within Fisheries Management Zone 18
