  • Mississippi Lake is considered  eutrophic  in that it has  warm, generally shallow water quite high in nutrient content
  • while the lake reaches maximum depths of 30', the average depth is 9'
  • the perimeter of the lake is 57 km (36 miles)
  • <>the surface area of the lake is 2,348 hectares  (5,800 acres)
  • there are extensive weed flats including rice beds throughout the lake that are home to largemouth bass and pike. The deeper rockier areas and islands favour smallmouth bass and walleye
  • a sanctuary area has been established in the Innisville area on a portion of the inflowing Mississippi River
  • the fishing regulations governing Mississippi Lake are those applicable to waters in Fisheries Management Zone 18
