  • the lake is located in Eldon Township within the municipality of Kawartha Lakes. It is part of the Trent Severn System and sits between Canal Lake to the west and Balsam Lake to the east

  • maximum depth: 3.7 metres (12')
  • average depth: .7 metre (2.2')
  • perimeter: 16 km. (10 miles)
  • Mitchell is a eutrophic lake (shallow, fertile, warm water, mud bottomed)
  • the predominant cover for fish are extensive weedy areas with lots of protruding stumps and logs throughout
  • major fish species include largemouth bass, northern pike, perch and bluegill. There is a small population of muskie and walleye
  • Mitchell Lake is located within the boundaries of Fisheries Management Zone 17
