  • Muskrat Lake is located along Hwy. 17 at Cobden Ontario in Renfrew County
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 45° 40' 57"  Long. 76° 54' 43"
  • the Muskrat River enters the lake on the southeast side of the lake and exits the northwest end on its way to Pembroke and the Ottawa River
  • the perimeter of the lake is 33.7 km (21.1 miles)
  • while the lake reaches maximum depths of 210', the average depth is 58'
  • the east shore of the lake consists of granite uplands that drop quickly into deep water. The bottom rises gradually to the west shore which features marshy weedy bays, large weed beds and nice deep weed lines in 10'-15' of water
  • a public concrete boat launch is located at the foot of Main St. in the town of Cobden
  • major fish species include large and smallmouth bass, walleye, northern pike, lake trout, perch and rainbow smelt
  • Muskrat Lake is situated within Fisheries Management Zone 15
