Sandbar Lake: Quick Facts
  • Sandbar Lake is located along Hwy 599 approx. 12 km north of Ignace Ontario in the Kenora District
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 49° 28' 05"  Long. 91° 35' 43"
  • Sandbar Lake Provincial Park almost surrounds the lake and offers a good public boat launch
  • this warm water lake is relatively shallow and supports a warm water fishery. It consists of 2 basins connected by a neck about 1/2 km wide
  • the perimeter of the lake is 22 km. (14 miles)
  • while the lake reaches depths of 45', the average depth is 15'
  • the Agimak River enters the lake on the southwest corner and exits on the northwest side flowing into Indian Lake
  • major fish species include walleye, northern pike and yellow perch
