Sharbot Lake (East): Quick Facts
  • Sharbot Lake is located on the south side of Hwy. 7 and the east side of Hwy. 38 adjacent to the town of Sharbot Lake in Frontenac County
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 44° 46' 03"  Long. 76° 41' 36"
  • Sharbot Lake as a whole consists of an east and west section connected by a navigable channel
  • while the east section of the lake reaches depths of 102', the average depth is 16'
  • the perimeter of the lake is 44 km (27.5 miles)
  • the surface area of the lake 823 hectares (2,035 acres)
  • aside from the southeast arm, the eastern section of the lake has extensive shallow weedy water areas and flats. Heavy weed growth including lily pad beds as well as submerged stumps and logs provide good cover for bass and pike. Underwater humps, shoals, shoreline rubble and fast breaking points  are favoured spots for smallmouth. Walleye can also be found in these areas but not in the same numbers
  • a public boat launch is located on the northwest side of the narrows at Oso Township Park
  • the major fish species include large and smallmouth bass, pike, walleye, lake trout, perch and bluegill
  • Sharbot Lake East is located within Fisheries Management Zone 18
