Silver Lake: Quick Facts
  • Silver Lake is located  north of Coboconk Ontario on the east side of Hwy. 35 in the City of Kawartha Lakes
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 44° 41'  Long. 78° 48'
  • Silver Lake is a part of the  Gull River drainage system. Shadow Lake lies to the north and Balsam Lake to the south
  • the lake reaches a maximum depth of 52'
  • this cottage/dock lined lake has some sandy as well as rubble stretches of shorelines. There are pockets of cattail growth on the north and south ends. Overhanging trees and submerged logs provide cover for near shore fish especially largemouth bass
  • a public boat launch is located on the west side of the lake
  • the Gull River inflow area on the north end holds walleye in the spring. Trolling along the rubble shoreline areas, points and shoals in a zig zag pattern will improve your odds of landing muskie, walleye and smallmouth bass
  • major fish species include large and smallmouth bass, muskie, walleye, perch, bluegill and crappie
  • Silver Lake is located  within Fisheries Management Zone 17
