St. Nora Lake: Quick Facts
  • St. Nora Lake is located  along the east side of Hwy. 35 south of the village of Dorset Ontario in the Algonquin Highlands
  • co-ordinates: Lat. 45° 09' 21"  Long. 78° 49' 47"
  • the lake has deep clear cold water with depths reaching 135'
  • the lake consists of two basins - the smaller and shallower one is on the northeast side adjacent to St. Margaret Island
  • much of the shoreline consists of rock rubble with a few sandy stretches. There are fast breaking drop offs along the main basin shorelines that make for good lake trout trolling runs
  • St. Nora Lake is connected to Kushog Lake via a channel on the south end of the main basin. The channel is navigable but exercise caution. There are underwater obstacles
  • a public boat launch is located off of Hwy. 35 on the west end of the lake
  • the major fish species include lake trout, smallmouth bass, northern pike, and ling
  • St. Nora Lake is located within Fisheries Management Zone 15
