Taylor Lake: Quick Facts
  • Taylor Lake is located along County 16 north of the town of Lanark  and south of the village of Clayton
  • the lake connects to Clayton Lake via a shallow narrows on the north end
  • Taylor Lake is a very shallow lake with the maximum depth reaching only 9'. It supports a warm water fishery
  • the shorelines are littered with stumps and submerged logs. The inshore areas are heavily weeded with reeds, cattail and lily pad beds.
  • the odd walleye can be caught in the deeper areas and narrows at the start of the season
  • a public sand/gravel based launch is located at the end of 12th Concession Road
  • the major fish species include largemouth bass, northern pike, black crappie, bluegill and a small population of walleye
  • Taylor Lake is located in Fisheries Management Zone 18
